- IFC export from Revit
Every night 25 Revit models are exported to IFC. Manually doing this would not be practical daily, but by using Assistant the project is able to have always up to date IFC files.
- Updating Navisworks model from IFC export
Every weekend a Navisworks model is updated based on the IFC files. This is a very time consuming operation that is now fully automated.
- Updating Solibri models from IFC export
Every night, after IFC export, 3 Solibri models are updated based on all the IFC files exported.
- Converting IFC to RVT
Every week, 200+ IFC files are converted to RVT files. By converting these files this way, Revit users don't have to wait for a IFC file to be converted when its been updating, reducing opening times after new IFC files are received.
Using Tools, the project is saving a lot of time, increased delivery schedule, always up-to-date models and allows processes that would otherwise not be feasable.
Were the project to keep models updated at the frequency it has today without Tools, they estimate a avarage of 33 hours every day, summing up to more than 30 000* hours during the entire project. Naturally, this frequency would not be worth the cost without Tools, but the minimum frequency the project requires is once a week, which sums up a time saving of more than 6000* hours.
* Assuming 1 hour a day for managing the automated setup, 5 days a week, 40 weeks a year for 5 years.
- SUS is a 120 000 sqm new construction project with high BIM abmitions from early on. Focus on innovative approaches, automation and the will to work in new ways has been som of the key factors. It has also been build almost exclusively from models, with just a few drawings to support the workflow.
Without Tools it would be impossible to deliver a BIM project on this level.

- IFC export from Revit
All 40+ models are exported every night
- Updating parameter values in Revit
All 40+ models are updated with parameter values every night, aligning values across models and synchronized with cloud services like dRofus.
- Running Check&Fix
Runs nightly on all models. See the Check&Fix section for details.
- Clean up Revit models for transfer
Every week all 40+ models are detached, cleaned and prepared for exchanging to other parties.
- Upload/Download to cloud services
Every night the updated IFC files are uploaded to the clients cloud service. Every week new model files are downloaded from the cloud service and made available to the project.
- Element level correction
Corrects the assigned level of elements in Revit, ensuring model consistency and improving IFC quality.
- Relation between elements
Updates building and area codes on all elements in all models. This removes this tedius maintance job from the engineers and ensures high quality of these properties.
- To keep track of the Architects rooms and all the changes made to them during the design phase, it was necessary to utilize Space Manager for both HVAC and Electrical. It was used both for placing and tracking room geometry, and for copying and keeping track of room->space parameters.
- An award winning process of modular design was invented on this project, using Coordination tool to place equipment from multiple disciplines into modules of bathrooms and bedrooms.
- Coordination between HVAC and Electrical relies heavily on Coordination Tool.
- Arch and other disciplines has also been using Coordination tool to handle their work. Including novel workflows such as handling studs next to doors, insulation on beams etc.
- To handle voids between technical disciplines and structural/arch, the void manager has played an important role, on top of MagiCAD BWO.
