The Family Renamer is a extension designed to assist in the bulk renaming of families in Revit. This extension uses a CSV mapping file to rename families according to your specific requirements.
If you already have a excel file, you can use the Excel to CSV task to convert it into a CSV file.

OldFamilyName1;NewFamilyName1
OldFamilyName2;NewFamilyName2

In Revit Extension task in Assistant, search for Family Renamer and select it.
The software will read the CSV file and attempt to rename families within the active model.
No action is needed from you at this point; wait until the process completes.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a message listing the number of families updated and their old to new names.
If the CSV file is not found or has incorrect formatting, an error message will provide guidance on what needs to be corrected.
If no active model is open, you will be given a error message indicating this.
Verify the mapping file for accuracy to avoid unexpected renaming.
Keep the CSV file simple and make sure it does not include additional characters or spaces that can cause errors. The name must be a exact match, including lower/upper case characters.
