How Assistant works is that it runs a set of tasks in a specified order, where each task can easily be configured. Each set of tasks is grouped inside an action, where multiple actions can be run in order. Actions and tasks can then be saved to a file for reuse. This saved "Actions"-file will then work as a description of the workflow in the project, where any other user can reuse this file and perform the same workflow later, even if the creator of the workflow is unavailable. This ensures that a project is not dependent on one person to perform these routine tasks.
